Which is a good thing.

Dark Souls 3

Dark Souls III was announced at E3 this year, after a few weeks’ worth of leaks and speculation, but we never got to actually see the game in action- for some reason, the game was, bafflingly enough considering what kind of games Dark Souls are, debuted with a CG trailer.

That changed at Gamescom this year, when we finally got to see Dark Souls III in action. And yes, indeed, the game looks absolutely awesome, looking like the best possible fusion of Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, and Bloodborne. From the latter, especially, it seems to have borrowed a lot of cues, in terms of its atmosphere and its gameplay, which seems to be far faster and more sped up and fluid in general than before, while also emphasizing the kind of defensive play the series came to be known for in the first place.

Dark Souls III launches in 2016, on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
