When Dark Souls Remastered was first announced, it seemed like publisher Bandai Namco would offer discounts to PC owners of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on PC. This was ascertained via a blurb on the game’s Bandai Namco US Store listing (that was later removed but still screencapped).
A spokesperson from Bandai Namco noted to PC Gamer that Dark Souls Remastered would be “the same price for all platforms” with no discount. However, another spokesperson then followed up by noting that the store listing was an error and that was “no official discount announced for the title at this time.” The full statement is as follows:
“A message regarding a discount for Dark Souls: Remastered was posted on our e-commerce site in error and has since been removed. To clarify, there is no official discount announced for the title at this time. We want to thank our fans for their understanding and hope everyone looks forward to more information regarding Dark Souls: Remastered in the coming months.”
It could be that the discount was announced in advance. Then again, it could also have just been an error and there really is no discount for current owners of the PC version. Dark Souls Remastered will be coming to the Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch on May 25th.
