Dauntless

En route to its launch into free to play open beta, Phoenix Labs’ Dauntless will have another major update coming on May 2nd for closed beta players. The update brings a new progression system, Exotic armour and weapons, and a reputation system.

The latest blog post also talks about the “evergame” that will be coming with the open beta of Dauntless. Think of this as the end-game that comes after the campaign where players will hunt new Dire Behemoths. These include Firebrand Charrogg, Razorwing Kharabak, Frostback Pangar, Bloodfire Embermane and reworks for Moonreaver Shrike and Deadeye Quillshot.

That’s not all as there will be unique modifiers in hunts that will challenge players to change up their tactics and builds. Heroic difficulty encounters are also planned with the new Exotic armour and weapons offering specialized skills and “distinctive” looks.

It’s worth noting that the update out on May 2nd will coincide with closed beta players having their characters wiped, though they will receive a unique reward in-game for their contribution. There will be another reset on May 22nd prior to launch, offering more rewards in-game for those who participate.

Dauntless releases on May 24th for PC. If you want a Founder’s Pack, you better hurry – it will be replaced by Supporter’s Packs and not be available later.
