David Jaffe the original creator of God of War has seen Ascension at the Santa Monica offices and is apparently very impressed with the game.
He was confident of the game’s multiplayer and advised people to give it a chance before writing it off.
“I think it looks cool. It looks like another great, impeccably executed Sony Santa Monica game,” he said to IGN.
“Sony Santa Monica, and certainly that team, really hasn’t done anything ever to let people down as game developers,” he added.
“If it turns out to be the case that the single player is watered down because of it, then I think they have some justification. But I don’t see any evidence of that, and I don’t see evidence of that based on the team they are.”
Jaffe had a lot of ideas for the God of War franchise including an entirely different ending for God of War 3, and he mentioned how Kratos had to work with Red Sonja, and how they hated each other but had to work together.
You know, like in the movies, hate first then fall in love, or something like that.
“There were moments where I was being a total idiot, and it was a Red Sonja version of Kratos,” revealed Jaffe.
“It was kind of like a hyper-violent, screwball comedy where they hated each other but they had to work together – which is totally stupid.”
