According to Bohemia Interactive, Alpha sales of their multiplayer open world survival horror game, DayZ are starting off very strong with over 172,500 sales of the game in the first 24 hours of its release. This figure comes from the Tumblr of Bohemia Interactive’s CEO, Maerk Spanel.

Released via Steam’s Early Access, the large number of sales for DayZ is very promising for the game’s ultimate official release.

According to the games product description on Steam, gamers should be expecting to face heavy bugs during their experience with the game. Bohemia Interactive has predicted that it will be a year before the game is even wheedled down to a release-worthy Beta version.

As with any Alpha purchase, you’ve got to expect a lot of bugs, which discourages a lot of gamers. Clearly DayZ looks promising to garner a lot of interest enough in spite of that.

Stay tuned to Gamingbolt for more updates as they are released.
