DayZ, among the biggest mod success stories of all time, started out as just that, a mod for Arma 2. Now, with Arma 3 coming up, the modding group Zoombies has taken it upon itself to port the mod to the the upcoming military combat simulator.
Since it is a straight port to the Arma 3 engine, it preserves (unfortunately), all of the bugs and glitches from the original mod; however, it also adds a new inventory system to the game, so there is that benefit for those who decide to use it.
DayZ is still slated as a standalone release for PC sometime soon. Its original launch date was meant to be late 2012, but Bohemia Interactive confirmed it had been delayed. Now it is due sometime next year, along with Arma 3 itself.
Stay tuned to GamingBolt for further coverage on both the upcoming titles, including previews from the beta, and much more.
