Dead Cells - Return to Castlevania

Indie studio Evil Empire is teaming up with a host of other indie developers for a new showcase. Set for April 10 at 5pm GMT, the showcase has been dubbed the Triple-i Initiative, and will feature more than 30 indie games.

Developers that will be showcasing their titles at the Triple-i Initiative include teams behind successful indie titles such as Slay the Spire, Darkest Dungeon, Terraria, and Vampire Survivors. Speaking to PCGamer, Evil Empire’s marketing director Bérenger Dupré revealed that the studio wanted to showcase its next title, and figured that it would be a good opportunity to showcase other indie games as well.

“We did collaborations with many indie studios [for Dead Cells]: Slay the Spire, Risk of Rain, Terraria,” said Dupré. “It was a cool experience taking those games and putting them into Dead Cells, but we were always wondering if there was a way to collaborate with our indie friends outside of games.”

The showcase will be around 45 minutes long. “Back-to-back trailers, no hosts or sponsorships, no extra fluff,” said Dupré in describing the event.
