Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster isn’t Bringing Back Frank West’s Original Voice Actor

Terence J. Rotolo, the original voice of Dead Rising protagonist Frank West, has confirmed that he isn't reprising his role in the upcoming remaster.

Terence J. Rotolo, the voice actor who portrayed protagonist Frank West in the original Dead Rising, will not be returning to reprise his role in its upcoming enhanced re-release, the recently announced Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

As shared on Twitter by user @FrankByDaylight, when asked about the same by a fan on Instagram, Rotolo confirmed that he isn’t coming back to voice Frank West in the upcoming remaster, and revealed that Capcom did not contact him for a potential return.

“The answer to your question is I have no answer,” Rotolo said. “All I can say it that I’ve always been grateful for every opportunity to help bring Frank to life. An actor’s job when called upon is to show up prepared, deliver your best, and when done, move on to the next mission. I simply wasn’t called for this mission. The reasons are the producers’ own.”

Rotolo also voiced Frank West in Dead Rising 2: Case West, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, and Dead Rising 3. West returned in Dead Rising 4 as well, though in that game, he was played by Ty Olsson, so the upcoming remaster isn’t the first time that the character won’t be voiced by Rotolo. Capcom has yet to provide any official communication on Frank West’s voice actor in the remaster, or why Rotolo wasn’t asked to return.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster launches on September 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will cost $50, though $60 deluxe edition with plenty of additional bonus cosmetics will also be available.
