Hideo Kojima has been known to give some of the most obscure hints about people he’s working with, and some keen eyed fans have discovered something that might hint at a collaboration between the legendary developer and South African film director Neill Blomkamp.
In the E3 Coliseum panel which saw Jon Vogt-Roberts, who has been tapped up to direct the upcoming Metal Gear film, and Hideo Kojima conversing about films and video games, YouTube channel PythonSelkanHD spotted something that might allude to what we’ve mentioned above. Vogt-Roberts was sporting a jacket throughout the panel, and on the jacket were three national flags on top of each other- United States, Japan and South Africa, with the first two representing Vogt-Roberts and Kojima themselves and the third one hinting at Blomkamp- possibly.
In another panel during this year’s E3 Coliseum, Blomkamp himself talked about Hideo Kojima, adding further credence to the possibility of the two of them working together. Does it seem like a stretch? Sure, a little, but it also makes sense. Kojima and Blomkamp do known each other, and Kojima’s given out even more obscure hints in the past before. And when you consider that Death Stranding deals with themes such as connections all of this may possibly make sense. You can watch the video in question through the link above.
