Death Stranding Will Show A Different Side of Norman Reedus

Plus, Kojima professes his adoration for Mads Mikkelsen.

The great thing about Kojima’s games is that they actually end up blurring the line between cinema and video games, blending the two mediums together like so many other developers set out to do. And nowhere have his ambitions to d so been more apparent than in the upcoming Death Stranding, which outright stars multiple big name TV and movie stars.

One of these stars is Norman Reedus, most popular for having played Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead TV series. According to Hideo Kojima, however, Norman Reedus’ portrayal in Death Stranding will be very different from what his fans are used to seeing.

“With the very first trailer, I wanted to show a different side of Norman than we’re used to seeing, by having him in tears and hugging an infant,” Kojima said in an interview with Sugoi Japan. “Most people only know him as Daryl from ‘The Walking Dead’. However, this time, Norman… is butt naked! [laughs]. Don’t you think Mads Mikkelsen look cool in the second trailer [slyly smiling]? I’m absolutely in love with Mads, to the point where I watch one of his films every day.”

Definitely, one of the novelties of Death Stranding to me is seeing all these A list personalities in an actual good game, involved with it in a meaningful capacity- that kind of thing usually never happens, and I can’t wait to see where Kojima goes with it.
