Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island) has been collaborating with mastermind Hideo Kojima quite closely these days, seeing as he’s been tapped up to direct a Metal Gear Solid movie adaptation, and the two seem to have formed a bond. Apparently, Roberts was recently invited by Kojima to see the shooting of a Death Stranding cutscene, and after having seen it, the Hollywood director only had positive things to say.
Roberts took to Twitter to talk about said cutscene. He said that he had been watching and enjoying cutscenes directed by Hideo Kojima for a long time, before saying that what he had witnessed live was “beyond special” and “unlike anything you’ve seen”. He didn’t go into any specifics about what the cutscene entailed, but then again, we didn’t really expect that he would.
Recently, we reported that Troy Baker and Emily O’Brien would be joining the star-studded cast of Death Stranding, though that has not yet ben officially confirmed by Kojima Productions. You can read the report here. Death Stranding is slated for launch on the PS4, followed by a PC release at a later date, though the specific date for both is currently unknown.
Today I watched Kojima-San direct a cutscene. I’ve watched hours of his cinematics and witnessing one in real life was beyond special. Death Stranding is unlike anything you’ve seen. Get excited. #KeptYouWaitingHuh https://t.co/yPWJjcOfig
