Destiny Rise of Iron DLC: Tower Not Closing After Expansion’s Launch

This needed official confirmation apparently.

With all this talk of tech mites and quarantine in Destiny en route to Rise of Iron, some odd fan theories have begun to float around for Bungie’s shooter. Since Rise of Iron introduces a brand new social space with Felwinter Peak, some players theorized that The Tower might be closed off to Guardians.

Which would make sense lore-wise since the Vanguard might want to stop the tech mites from spreading. But from a gameplay perspective? We’re not buying it, especially given how integral the Tower has been with its vendors, staging for special events and more, especially for previous gen players.

Nonetheless, Bungie community manager David “DeeJ” Dague addressed concerns and noted that, “The Tower will not be closed at launch of Rise of Iron. You gain a social space. You do not lose one.”

Sorry, Destiny community. Might want to try crafting a more elaborate theory like The Stranger being Mara Sov from the distant future with her consciousness implanted into an Exo or something. Destiny’s Rise of Iron DLC is out on September 20th for PS4 and Xbox One.
