Destiny 2: “A World Without Light” Could Have Revealed More Than It Teased

Welcome to a world without Light.

Destiny 2 was officially announced a while back, with a teaser trailer accompanying the announcement, and keen-eyed Destiny fans might have noticed something in the trailer that had more meaning to it than you might notice at first glance. In a post written by Twinfinite, a particular set of words in the trailer is analyzed in great detail, and it actually makes a lot of sense. The trailer features the words “Welcome to a world without light” at one point, and those who are familiar with the lore of the series would know that maybe these words mean a lot more than one might think.

The Light, as Destiny players know, is a valuable commodity in the series’ lore, and it is basically what gives the Guardians the bulk of their powers. However, with the Cabal attacking the Traveller and the Last City in Destiny 2, it seems like the Light is in danger of being extinguished. This hypothesis is backed by those words in the trailer, and if it actually happens, it could have some interesting implications.

Not only would it mean more stakes and tension in the story, it would also mean that players would lose a lot of their abilities (some classes more than others) in terms of gameplay and game design. What do you think about this? Tell us in the comments section below.
