Destiny 2 Iron Banner

It seems that Season 2 of Iron Banner in Destiny 2 isn’t quite over. Bungie announced in its weekly update that the limited time Crucible playlist would be returning on May 1st, thus offering players their final chance to earn Season 2 ornaments. Iron Banner will conclude on May 8th, the same day that the Warmind DLC goes live.

This time, Iron Banner will be Control. Bungie is evaluating feedback from the Iron Banner 6v6 playlist seen recently with Senior Designer Jeremiah Pieschl sharing his thoughts. “While we continue to evaluate the feedback and data from the last Iron Banner Control with 6v6, we’ve heard two messages very clearly.

“Having more opportunities to play 6v6 is highly desired and Control remains the most popular mode for 6v6. As such, you can expect Iron Banner to feature 6v6 Control exclusively moving into Season 3.” That’s good news, especially considering that Destiny 2 has been mostly 4v4 modes since the game released. In the past several months, however, we’ve seen the return of Rumble – first as eight player Free-For-All before falling back to six players.

Perhaps Bungie could add a permanent 6v6 playlist down the line, much like the previous Destiny had. Until then, it’s the Weekly Crucible Playlist for players interested in a little more havoc, that too on certain weeks.
