Alongside the launch of Destiny 2‘s newest expansion, Lightfall, developer Bungie has also kicked off a new season for the game. Titled Season of Defiance, the new season’s story revolves around rescuing civilians that have been captured by the forces of darkness. Check out the trailer below.
Season of Defiance is slated to take place until March 22, slowly progressing the story every week as time goes on. The new three-player activity, dubbed Defiant Battlegrounds, has players bypassing the Shadow Legion’s security by entering their bases through the Ascendant Plane.
The new season brings with it new weapons and armor, including the Verglas Curve Exotic bow, the Defiance Incarnate armor set, as well as a host of Shadow Legion-themed weapons and armor ornaments. The reward for completing every objective throughout the season will be the Mark of the Queensguard seal, rewarding players with the Queensguard title.
As is typical for a Destiny 2 season, Season of Defiance also features a 100-tier season with a free reward track as well as a paid one.
