Destiny is a game that tries to encourage players to find the best gear, luring them in with the promise of a world where everyone has an equal chance of finding the best, rarest, highest level gear thanks to the RNG mechanics governing drops. A world where your gains in the game are equivalent only to the time and effort you put into the game itself.

Apparently, it is also a world where you can get gear and XP boosts if you have Rockstar Energy Drink and Pop-Tarts. Activision has announced that players who have Rockstar Energy Drinks, or Pop-Tarts (the latter only in the US) will be able to avail better gear and XP boosts in game in Destiny 2.

“In collaboration with Rockstar Energy Drink and Pop-Tarts, we chose strategic, renowned lifestyle partners in major markets to bring the Destiny 2 universe to life. We’re bringing these partners together to complement the overwhelming excitement of Destiny 2’s launch with benefits that reward players both inside and outside of the universe,” said Senior Vice President of Product Management Byron Beede.

Destiny 2 launches on PS4 and Xbox One in September, with the PC release following a month and a half later on October 24.
