Destiny 2 Prometheus Lens Fix Coming in Update 1.1.1

Until then, the weapon will remain in a broken state for the next few days.

Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris_06

If you haven’t caught on by now, Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris isn’t a very addition to the base game. While one of the most recent Exotics, a trace rifle called Prometheus Lens, has resulted in unexpected hijinks in the Crucible thanks to its absurd damage, it’s more or less the worse manifestation of loot causing PvP imbalance since the Vex Mythoclast. However, it’s OP state also seems to come from a bug.

Leaving aside the fact that Bungie will nerf it into the ground for PvP and PvE, when exactly can players expect the “bugged” weapon to be fixed? Not until update 1.1.1 which is coming next week. Bungie’s Jon Weisnewski confirmed this in the recent weekly update and also added, “Until then, please go easy on the players who have yet to get their hands on one (we know you won’t, but it’s been said).”

Considering that Destiny 2’s Trials of the Nine begins tonight (along with the first raid lair Eater of Worlds), it’s kind of a shame that Bungie’s response to players getting steam-rolled by those with Prometheus Lens is so laissez-faire. What are your thoughts on Prometheus Lens and Curse of Osiris in general? Let us know below.
