Destiny 2’s Season of Dawn will offer a new seasonal activity, Seasonal Ranks, and a story quest for players to engage with. However, that’s all on the PvE side – what’s going on with PvP? Though Trials of the Nine/Osiris is not making a comeback, there are a few things Bungie is doing.
According to community manager dmg04 on Twitter, along with the return of Rusted Lands from Destiny 1, Elimination will now become a core PvP mode on the Director. Bungie has tweaked setting based on feedback from Crucible Labs, though we’ll have to wait and see how things shake out. Otherwise, the tuning of Solar subclasses, new Legendaries and Exotics, and new mods should shake up the sandbox.
In Season of the Undying, Bungie removed some unpopular maps. It’s adding those back in, but four other maps are being removed for Season of Dawn. This is for the sake of “QoL improvements”. Expect more details in the patch notes when the next season launches on December 10th.

We'll also have a few maps returning to rotation that went on hiatus during the last season, and four maps being removed to undergo some QoL improvements this season.
