Destiny 2 (4)

Yesterday, multiple rumours and reports began to circulate about Destiny 2, Bungie’s next big game in the universe and due for release in late 2017. Not only would it seemingly be coming to PC with Vicarious Visions helping out but it would feature new, busier locations, a better development pipeline and the Cabal as foes.

As per Kotaku’s in-depth report on the same, it seems Bungie wants Destiny 2 to be a whole new game, comparing it to Diablo 2 in how gameplay mechanics carry over but characters and content don’t. A source in development stated that, “D2 is a completely different game. The Taken King was a reboot for Destiny 1 to fix small things. This is the overhaul to fix big things.”

However, at this point, it’s not completely sure whether player’s characters will transfer over to the second game. This makes sense given how different both will be but it’s likely that Bungie has some kind of nod to Destiny players in the sequel.
