Destiny

Bungie revealed a plethora of new details surrounding its next expansion for Destiny, House of Wolves but community manager David “DeeJ” Dague accidentally omitted details surrounding the future of commendations.

Commendations were used when The Dark Below released to purchase new armour and weapons from Vendors. Due to the higher light cap, there was a worry that most players would simply max out their marks and advance past level 30 on the first day of the DLC. However, House of Wolves will provide a new upgrade system allowing all Legendary and Exotic items to hit the new light level 34 cap with Etheric Light gathered from the Nightfall, Prison of Elders and Trials of Osiris.

Commendations are no longer required to purchase new gear but for those who have plenty stockpiled up, Bungie revealed in its Weekly Update that you can “consume” these for reputation gains. Vanguard and Crucible commendations will each provide 250 reputation when consumed, allowing players a significant boost when House of wolves hits.
