Destiny Facing Server Issues, “Caterpillar” Errors

Bungie is aware of problems and "currently investigating".

Destiny The Taken King

Bungie’s Destiny has been facing some rather serious problems in the past day or so. PS4 players were unable to connect to servers, which was further compounded by PSN as a whole being affected on Black Friday. Bungie did state on Twitter that all issues preventing PlayStation players from accessing Destiny were resolved but other problems have since cropped up.

Following complaints from players that servers were being wonky, Bungie stated that, “We are aware of players encountering caterpillar errors and are currently investigating. Please stand by.”

The Caterpillar error code usually means you have to restart an activity or your game but the problem persisting points to Bungie working on its servers. In such cases, you’ll have to just wait and watch for Bungie to give the all-clear, unless you want to deal with inconsistent gameplay/server performance.

Have you been facing any errors with Destiny in the past 24 hours? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
