In the latest Bungie Weekly Update, community manager David “DeeJ” Dague confirmed several details regarding the Exotic weapons upgrades in preparation for The Dark Below expansion of Destiny. He also discussed several bugs that occurred with the last patch that would be fixed when the expansion released this Tuesday.

However, DeeJ also confirmed that the Iron Banner live event would be returning to Destiny’s Crucible PvP mode on December 16th.

The Iron Banner is a lot different from your usual Control modes. Here, a player’s gear, level and weapons actually make a difference in combat, meaning that lower level players will struggle to defeat higher level players in face to face combat.

The new Iron Banner event will reset player’s rankings and start off like a brand new season and won’t require The Dark Below to compete in. You’ll still have the Tempered bonus and tokens for increased reputation when winning matches but most importantly, you can now earn level 31 gear from competing in the Iron Banner.

What are your thoughts on the new Iron Banner event? Let us know in the comments.
