Destiny Iron Banner

Bungie’s weekly update didn’t carry too much new information on the future of Destiny but it did announce that Iron Banner Clash would be returning on February 23rd. Most Iron Banner events till now have been Control while the most recent was Rift. This marks the second time that Clash is the default game type.

The developer broke down the loot players can expect – from Lord Saladin, you’ll be able to purchase the gloves and PlayStation-exclusive gloves at rank 3; helm, PlayStation helm and sniper rifle at rank 4; and the rocket launcher at rank 5. In terms of post-game drops, you can expect the same loot at each respective rank (but no PlayStation-exclusive helm at rank 3).

It seems that the new matchmaking parameters, which place heavier emphasis on connection quality over skill, will be used. This matchmaking model is currently only active in Control.

Iron Banner begins at 10 AM PST, February 23rd and concludes on March 1st, 1 AM PST. Will you be taking part? Let us know in the comments.
