Say what you will about Bungie’s Destiny and how it didn’t meet expectations but no one can deny its success. Destiny has attracted more than 3.2 million daily players as of October 2014 and more than 10 million registered users since its launch.

Sony also announced that Destiny and its add-on content were the top-selling titles in the North American PlayStation Store for the PS4. That being said, Europe had a significantly different set of best-sellers as Minecraft was the top title for PS3, PS4 and PS Vita. Destiny on the European PlayStation Store ranked at seventh for the PS4.

As for North America, Destiny only ranked fourth place on the PlayStation 3 with Minecraft dominating the charts. So the moral of the story is that for all the success that Destiny has had, you should never underestimate the popularity of Minecraft.
