Destiny Not Receiving PS4 Pro Patch With Rise of Iron

Bungie will look into it for the future though.

Among the many games that will be a part of the PlayStation 4 Pro Enhanced Games program, wherein current PS4 games receive patches to upscale their resolutions up to 4K, Bungie’s Destiny will not be joining the pack. Not right now at least and certainly not when Rise of Iron launches.

Speaking to Gamespot, executive producer Scott Taylor answered in the negative when asked if PS4 Pro support was being planned. When asked if not for Rise of Iron, he replied, “Yeah. Not for Rise of Iron. Maybe as far as the future. We have nothing to announce today, but I mean we’ll be looking at [that].”

That seems to indicate that perhaps Destiny 2 could take advantage of the PS4 Pro, which makes sense given how far off that is and how much time it offers developers like Bungie to see if the platform is worth enhancing its games for.

Destiny’s Rise of Iron expansion is out on September 20th for Xbox One and PS4.
