Destiny players who wanted to get a really good look at features such as the newly souped up PvP Matchmaking settings, had to wait quite a bit on Thursday. Bungie announced on Thursday morning that they were going to be performing some pretty heavy duty maintenance. It turns out the maintenance ended up taking away a six hour window. Of course, when you’re talking about a game that is  online only, the title is going to be down a bit more in order to make sure everything is working.

After taking the servers offline, Bungie tweeted out around 3:30 pm ET that they were back online. The good news was that those of us who tend to have more time to play in the evening weren’t missing anything at all. Those that tend to play the game during the middle of the day lost out on most of their gaming day. Still, it’s a small price to pay in order to make sure the game is running smoothly, no matter what format you are playing the game.

Those of you who were wondering what was going on all morning and early afternoon, the questions have been answered. This isn’t a problem that is affecting Destiny any more, so now you can go shoot things to your heart’s content.
