One of the things that players of Destiny have been asking for changes to is the Silver Dust economy-  right now, players are simply not happy with how it works. An upcoming patch to the game will therefore make several changes- it will make it so Trials, Wrath of the Machine, and Iron Lord Armor Ornaments will no longer require Silver Dust to apply.

That said, the Silver Dust requirement for applying Exotic Weapon Ornaments will remain. Another change will be made to the behavior of Year 1 and Year 2 Iron Banner armor found in Dusty Iron Engrams and on activity completion of Iron Banner matches- dismantling this was incorrectly yielding Legendary Marks.

This will now be changed so that dismantling these yield 1 Silver Dust instead. These changes, in Bungie’s own words, are “being made to promote a positive player experience as well as [to] accommodate future changes and balances to the Eververse and Silver Dust economy.” Destiny: Rise of Iron is available now on Xbox One and PS4.
