Destiny The Dark Below

Destiny’s first major expansion The Dark Below finally has a release date – it will be out on December 9th and will add several new co-op, story and competitive levels to Bungie’s online shooter.

Harold Ryan, President of Bungie, stated that, “Destiny was created as a living universe, which has allowed us to improve the experience post launch in real-time. It also gives us insight into the things players are looking for in new content. We’ve seen from feedback that people want new activities, gear and weapons and of course the immensely popular Raid. The community helps shape our development decisions and that’s really important to us.”

Along with new weapons and items, including Legendaries and Exotics, the light level cap has been raised to 32. You also will have five additional Bounty Slots and can partake in three new story missions to stop the Hive from summoning their god Crota. The new Raid will likely see you confront Crota itself in the Hellmouth but there will also be a new Strike mission for your team-mates. The Will of Crota sees you fight against Omnigul as she attempts to expand the Hive army.

The three new PvP arenas were also confirmed with Pantheon taking place in the Black Garden of a Vex temple; Skyshock, which has vehicles and infantry engagements on an old defence array; and The Cauldron, a close quarters level set within a Hive ritual site. PlayStation users can also find reason to rejoice as they’ll net an exclusive strike, The Undying Mind, and a new exotic weapon. This content will stay exclusive to PS3 and PS4 users until Autumn 2015.
