Does he really wait for you in the dark below?
Days after new details about Destiny’s first expansion The Dark Below were revealed by Bungie, data-miners have successfully managed to scour the website for information on the next raid’s bosses.
If you’ll notice, the name “Crota” is distinctly missing from the list. Since the raid centers on the Hive trying to awaken their god, it’s only fitting that he would be the final ultra. It at least seems that the raid will take place on a Hive ship but many are speculating that the “Oversoul” is just another name for Crota. One Reddit commentator pointed out this interesting essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson called “The Over-soul” which contains the following passage:
“The Supreme Critic on the errors of the past and the present, and the only prophet of that which must be, is that great nature in which we rest, as the earth lies in the soft arms of the atmosphere; that Unity, that Over-soul, within which every man’s particular being is contained and made one with all other; that common heart.”
Sounds a lot like a god doesn’t it? In fact, the closest word for Over-soul is “Paramatman” which is Sanskrit for “Supreme Soul”. Either way, we’ll only know for sure whether Crota is present the expansion is out.
Crota’s End is the next big raid for Destiny and given how the raids are synonymous with the best content in the game, it only makes sense that people are hyped. Keep in mind that this information is still very much unconfirmed and Bungie has only confirmed the existence of one new foe, the Omnigul, listed above. Stay tuned for more information – The Dark Below will be out this December.
