Destiny The Dawning Receives Christmas-ey Launch Trailer

Nightfall unavailable till 10 AM PST.

A launch trailer for an event? That’s exactly the case for Bungie’s Destiny: Rise of Iron and its newest event – The Dawning. And no, this isn’t the sudden realization by its collective fan base that there are better games to play. Check out the launch trailer below.

The Dawning features the same Sparrow Racing League activity as last year (with accompanying quests and two new tracks) but adds a bit more on top. This includes returning Year One strikes like The Will of Crota and The Nexus but with new mechanics and enemies. Ice Breaker also makes a return and can now drop as a reward from the new Nightfall bounty. Strike scoring is another new feature, grading your performance during strikes and rewarding you accordingly. Plus it gives medals. Medals are nice.

The Nightfall won’t be active until 10 AM PST however. Though it can be accessed once the newest update is downloaded, launching it at reset will result in the “Honeydew” error code. Better to wait in the meantime.
