Bungie is working hard to get back into Destiny fans’ good graces with the upcoming The Taken King DLC. Along with switching up the Light and leveling system, besides replacing Peter Dinklage with Nolan North as the voice of Ghost, the developer also promises numerous new Exotic weapons. One of these is the Sleeper Simulant, which you can check out below in new footage courtesy of Planet Destiny and read up on more at Game Informer.

The Sleeper Simulant is an Exotic Heavy Fusion Rifle in much the same fashion as a rail gun. It is capable of firing singular bolts of energy like the Queenbreaker’s Bow but with much higher impact. Projectiles can also over-penetrate targets and ricochet off walls.

Unlocking the final Exotic perk tier will allow projectiles to bounce five times. The Sleeper Simulant is something that’s never been seen in Destiny before and will hopefully fill the demand of a heavy Sniper Rifle of sorts that fans have been demanding.

Destiny: The Taken King will be out on September 15th for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3.
