Destiny: The Taken King May Connect House of Wolves And The Dark Below Expansion Packs

Some speculation regarding Destiny's next expansion pack.

Destiny House of Wolves

Back in May, Bungie trademarked “The Taken King” which strongly hinted towards a new expansion pack for Destiny after The Dark Below and House of Wolves. Then earlier this month Red Bull more or less confirmed the existence of the expansion pack by leaking a poster which you can check out here. The Taken King is most likely the big expansion pack that Activision mentioned in its financial statement and one that is probably going to be showcased by Bungie at this year’s E3.

It seems that The Taken King may actually tie up the House of Wolves and The Dark Below expansions together. This theory was written up on Destiny’s sub reddit. The theory is based on what is written on the Grimoire cards for Ghost Fragment : The Queen 2.

1. The Hunter came to a halt in front of the throne, raised her covered face to meet the Prince’s gaze. The Hunter’s pale lips tightened slightly, then resumed their usual stony mien. 2. Eris: How? Toland: You’re hunters—hunt. These quotes indicates that this is Eris Morn who is a female hunter.

There is another quote within the Queen 2 Ghost Fragment which states: “The Techeuns gather at the door as the Queen approaches it. Prince Uldren holds it open with a small bow, and the Queen touches his shoulder as she passes. “Send a Crow to Mercury. And another to our new friend in the Tower.” In this quote, the Queen is talking about a friend in the Tower who could possibly be Eris. Another point to be noted is that the crows are like spies of Prince Uldren and the light house in Mercury could possibly be Osiris’s hideout.

So how does this all add up? According to rumors that are circulating around, The Taken King is connected to Osiris. So the The Taken King expansion pack might see players getting introduced to Eris Morn and gain allegiance with the Queen, thereby connecting the previous two expansion packs.

Of course, this is speculation at the moment but the lore adds up. What are your thoughts on this theory? Let us know in the comments section below.
