Destiny

Game Informer’s month long coverage for Destiny’s next expansion The Taken King continues. Plenty of playtime has been had on the game and thanks to r/DestinyTheGame, the more important points have been condensed down for one’s benefit.

As noted by GI, the Green (Uncommon) weapons encountered in the beginning missions were already stronger than year one raid gear. It also seems that there will be a wider range of gear overall to allow for more options with one’s appearance. Light levels now present one’s power rather than indicating your overall level and you can increase them by finding better gear. In an interesting twist, it seems Ghosts will add to your stats and light level. They will also have perks like increasing Glimmer from killing Hive and locating nearby materials.

Another cool addition is the ability to purchase a boost from Xur for three Strange Coins which increases your chances at an Exotic from the next boss. Strikes have also been overhauled for more replay value, with different enemy compositions and races for each strike. Playlists will also be divided into three variants for The Taken King – Legacy (consists of all year one strikes), Ursa (random Heroic strikes for earning marks and engrams) and Marmoset (The Taken King strikes only).

More information will be coming soon regarding the raid as well. What are your thoughts on The Taken King? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for its release on September 15th.
