Destiny The Taken King

If you were expecting to hear about Year 1 weapons transitioning to Year 2 of Bungie’s Destiny or Vault Space or even fixes for current bugs, you’ll be slightly disappointed with the developer’s latest Weekly Update.

This week, Bungie decided to talk about the new weapons that will arrive in The Taken King which release on September 15th and marks the beginning of the second year for Destiny. These new weapons come under three new manufacturers or “Foundries” – Suros, Hakke and Omolon. They’re all fairly distinct in their own right. Suros emphasizes stylish looks, Hakke is more about military-esque functionality and Omolon emphasizes energy weapons in the vein of Hard Light (which was developed by the same foundry, in fact).

You can check out some of the new weapons below but this won’t be all. Bungie is promising “the largest armory any Guardian has ever seen, and that includes the original launch of the game last year” with The Taken King. Which makes us all the more concerned about whether extra Vault Space will be arriving or not.

Bungie also briefly talked about Hot Fix 1.2.0.5 which arrives within the next month and will deliver shaders and emblem codes to those who contributed to the Guardians to the Aid of Nepal Campaign. It will also help fix the drop rate of the Husk of the Pit from the Blades of Crota. You’ll still need to head to the Fist of Crota mission in the Cosmodrome to obtain it though.

Thoughts on all the new weapons? Let us know in the comments.
