Destiny The Taken King

Bungie’s newest Weekly Update contained some rather nice surprises for Destiny players. Though The Taken King will be launching on September 15th, update 2.0 will be out on September 8th and with its release, you’ll be able to play the newest Crucible maps and modes one week before the expansion drops. This is open to all players whether they’ve purchased The Taken King or not.

The two new modes are Mayhem Clash – a team deathmatch variant with fast recharging Super abilities – and Rift – a Griffball variant where players must dunk a Spark into the enemy team’s rift. There will be eight new maps to play and the preview itself will run from September 8th to 14th. You won’t have new subclasses to play with unfortunately – that’s reserved for The Taken King – but weapon balances changes and such will be in affect from September 8th onwards.

Destiny: The Taken King will be out on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3. What are your thoughts on this initiative? Let us know in the comments below.
