In a new interview with Geoff Keighley, Destiny’s creative director Luke Smith and community lead Eric Osborne provided more details on the upcoming expansion The Taken King. This is along with some new footage showcasing the new sub-classes, the new armour and many of the new areas players will visit including the planet Saturn.

The story of the Taken King centres on Oryx, Crota’s father who is coming with his dark army, the Taken, to seek vengeance on the Guardians. Though details of the game’s new raid weren’t revealed, Smith did confirm that the Taken King would indeed have a raid and it would be its “biggest yet”. There will be a new Crucible mode as well with Mayhem, a fast paced mode where players fight with Supers all the time. There’s also a game focused around objectives which seems to resemble Griffball from Halo: Reach and Halo 4.

Destiny: The Taken King will release on September 15th for Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360. What are your thoughts on the new details? Let us know in the comments.
