Destiny’s Armsday Absent With Update 2.0

The Gunsmith now supports reputation but there are no weapons to actually earn it with.

Destiny Armsday

There are several different changes that Bungie’s made with update 2.0 of Destiny, both documented and undocumented, but perhaps the most mysterious absence is that of Armsday. As part of the Tower’s Gunsmith, Armsday allows you to field-test weapons and earn reputation with the Gunsmith, after which he delivers a weapon with random perks on Wednesday when you rank up. This feature was set to go live with update 2.0.

Unfortunately, many players – this author included – can confirm that though a banner is displayed in orbit when you load up Destiny announcing Armsday, the Gunsmith doesn’t actually have any weapons for you to try out. Though the menu has been modified to include Gunsmith reputation, there’s simply no way to actually earn it.

Bungie hasn’t addressed the issue thus far, though it does recognize other problems of pre-order consumers for The Taken King receiving shaders, emblems and special items. Stay tuned for more information on the same in the coming days.
