Destiny’s House of Wolves Launch Will Separate Nightfall and Heroic Strikes

Following the expansion's launch, you'll no longer encounter the same Strike in the Weeklies.

When Bungie released The Dark Below for Destiny, there was much criticism over the Nightfall and Weekly Heroic Strikes – two of Destiny’s most rewarding activities behind the Raids – being locked behind a pay wall. This is because the expansion’s strike, The Will of Crota, could only be accessed by those who had the expansion.

However, with the launch of House of Wolves, Bungie will be separating the Nightfall and Heroic Strikes. As House of Wolves lead designer Matt Sammons told IGN, “We’ve heard the feedback from players about not being able to do the weekly activities, so two things we wanted to do were always have one of the activities available if you didn’t have one of the DLC’s.

“So you’ll never have where all of the missions are from the House of Wolves expansion. We also wanted to have more variety for all players so we’ve actually uncoupled the Nightfall and Heroic so those will be different every week now.”

And though the expansion will continue the practice of emphasizing the DLC strike in the beginning, these will be spaced out a lot more in subsequent weeks. Hopefully this means we’ll be seeing the House of Wolves strike as a Nightfall less than once a month.

Destiny’s House of Wolves will be out on May 19th.
