Destiny Iron Banner

In its latest Weekly Update, Bungie has announced that the Iron Banner PvP event will be returning to Destiny on June 2nd. Unlike standard Control, Iron Banner has become renowned for offering competitive multiplayer that takes one’s level and attack numbers into account.

Next week’s Iron Banner will sport some improvements over past iterations. Along with boots, gloves, Scout Rifles and Fusion Rifles (likely to be Gheleon’s Demise and Perun’s Fire respectively), rewards will now cost less Glimmer. For those with multiple characters, there will be reputation boosts for the lower ranked characters to help get them up to speed with the higher ranked Guardians.

Lord Saladin will no longer be reforging guns, passing the responsibility to the Gunsmith, and The Dark Below’s The Cauldron and Pantheon have been added to the map rotation (along with Exodus Blue on PlayStation platforms). Finally, you’ll be able to purchase Etheric Light at rank 3 and rank 5, though how much will be available remains to be seen.

Stay tuned for more details on Iron Banner as it goes live next Tuesday and for the newest Trials of Osiris event, which goes live at 10 AM PST today.
