Bungie’s Destiny has a new live event currently going on. Replacing The Queen’s Wrath missions is the Iron Banner. If you look around the Tower, you’ll find that the Queen’s Emissary is now gone and replaced by Lord Saladin of the Iron Banner.

The main twist on the Iron Banner, compared to other live events, is that you’ll be pursuing PvP-focused bounties where your level and equipment is taken into account (as opposed to the current Crucible where the playing field is relatively levelled for everyone). However, initial impressions from GameSpot indicate that this isn’t quite the case yet. Given how Destiny’s servers will be going offline to implement a hotfix, this could change very soon.

PvP matches are currently only limited to Control and it seems that only successful players will receive Reputation and Marks towards their bounties. How this will play out over the coming weeks remains to be seen, since players are apparently abandoning matches when losses become apparent.

What are your thoughts on the event thus far? Let us know in the comments.
