If you haven’t been encountering many normal Public Events after the latest patch in Bungie’s Destiny – though they still make appearances from time to time – then it’s probably because the Blades of Crota have been invading the planet. This essentially means that a Hive Knight wielding Crota’s Sword is in the area and if you defeat it, you can actually wield the sword on your own for a good few minutes.

This pretty much solves the mystery behind the sword gameplay seen in Bungie’s last video feature on Destiny: The Dark Below, the upcoming expansion which will take players into the deepest darkest corner of the Hive to battle Crota. There will be new gear, new story missions and new Strikes for those who pick up the expansion.

However, for those who want to have some fun with the Sword of Crota outside of The Dark Below, this serves as a great new addition. Stay tuned for more details as The Dark Below releases on December 9th.
