Detroit: Become Human Includes A Mechanic Which Allows Players To Back To Key Moments And Change The Outcome

This will allow players to experiment with different storylines.

One of the main key features of Detroit: Become Human that we’re all excited to see is its branching storyline with multiple outcomes. This is a game in which player choice plays a very important role and which ensures that each player’s experience with the game is unique.

One key mechanic in the game is  the ability to go back to crucial moments in a chapter and change the outcome. The inclusion of such a mechanic makes sense in a game where the entire story can change depending on a single decision. There may even be points in the game which could lead to the deaths of any of the three main characters. The ability to go back and revise your decision will certainly take a lot of the pressure off. On the other hand, it also raises the question whether the game’s story will be less powerful to players when they know they can just alter the outcome if they want to.

We’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves once the game releases exclusively for the PS4 on May 25. You can check out how this mechanic works in the following gameplay video.
