So far, Microsoft have had a very hands off approach to VR- while they acknowledge that VR is the next paradigm for video games development and consumption, they have no VR solution in place for Xbox One (even though the Oculus Rift will let you play all Xbox One games in a virtual theater). This strategy is contrasted with Sony’s, who have their own in house VR solution for the PS4.
However, this might soon be changing- according to Ars Technica, at least one major developer is currently planning to release a new virtual reality game on the Xbox One in 2017 and plans to show that game at E3, indicating that a VR solution for the Xbox One is on the way. This would further reinforce reports from yesterday that a new Xbox One, with VR capabilities, is incoming.
If this is true, and if the game is being announced at E3, then that would also indicate that Microsoft will be taking the wraps off of the system at E3 too. That would make for one exciting and memorable showing.
