Developers Respond To Witcher 3 Downgrade Accusations

'There will be no downgrade.'

Witcher 3

The Witcher 3 got shown earlier this weekend, and while it looked good, fans with sharp and discerning eyes (especially those who have been burned by too many games with fantastic debuts being downgraded visually before release) figured that it was looking worse than it should be. In other words, they are now alleging that the game has been downgraded.

CD Projekt RED has promptly responded to all of these criticisms:

“I believe some explanation is required here. Unfortunately this time we’ve encountered some horrible YouTube compression problems. At this very moment we are working on fixing this and will upload another version of the trailer as soon as we can. It will present much higher quality. I want to assure you that there will be no downgrade – I see this game every day – it looks stunning.”

In case you want to see a higher quality version of that trailer, in full 1080p, you can see it here.
