Devil’s Third Features Single Player Campaign and Online Multiplayer

Creator Tomonobu Itagaki says "we invested double amount of resources than general development in this industry."

There hasn’t been much more information Valhalla’s Devil’s Third ever since former Team Ninja leader Tomonobu Itagaki announced it would be released exclusively on the Wii U. The game’s focus on eight person online arena combat remained intact and some gameplay was shown but that was more or less it.

Thankfully, Itagaki took to Facebook to answer a few questions about the game. He confirmed that work is still on-going but also added that, “We made this game for single play (campaign) and online multiplay gamers.” So if you were thinking of skipping the game because of its online focus, this is good news.

He further added that, “So, in fact, we invested double amount of resources than general development in this industry, to accomplish to develop this game. I can’t show you specific length of single play mode, ‘cuz we’re still tuning this game. But you can estimate the total length of single play mode, by my saying above.”

If this is indeed the case, then we’ll find out how that amount of resources translates into the final game when Devil’s Third is (ideally) out next year.
