Devolver Digital confirmed not long ago that it would be returning with another annual Devolver Direct showcase sometime in June, and earlier this week, said that more details on the event would be coming very soon. Those details are now here.

Devolver Direct is set for June 8 at 3 PM PT, which means it’ll be kicking off not long after Summer Game Fest Live has wrapped up earlier in the day. This year’s showcase has been dubbed “Devolver Direct: The Return of Volvy”.

What’s Volvy, you might ask? Well, nothing, really, but in classic Devolver fashion, the publisher has concocted a fictional gaming mascon character of massive cultural importance that’s stepping back into the limelight. That will serve as the central schtick that you can expect to see plenty of delightfully bizarre jokes and wackiness around in this year’s Direct. Check out the announcement trailer for the showcase below.

Devolver Digital has a number of upcoming games in the pipeline that it could show off during the presentation, including the likes of The Plucky Squire, The Talos Principal 2, Neva, Wizard with a Gun, Skate Storyand more. Meanwhile, new announcements for upcoming titles could also be made. Stay tuned in the coming days for more updates.
