Diablo 4 - Necromancer

The Necromancer is the fifth and final class to be available in Diablo 4 when it launches next year. Though it had some snippets of gameplay in the recent Developer Showcase video, even more can be seen in GameSpot’s interview with game director Joe Shely and franchise GM Rod Fergusson. Check it out below.

Blizzard also outlined some of the new abilities for the class in its recent press release. Each class has their unique mechanic and Book of the Dead is the Necromancer’s. It allows for raising skeletons who can serve as Warriors, Skirmishers or Defenders; summoning Reapers that wield Scythes, or casting spells with Skeleton Mages. The Skeleton Mages can also be imbued with cold, shadow and sacrificial magic.

Bone Golems are also here for tanking damage while Blood Golems will siphon away health from foes and Iron Golems will charge into them. Alternatively, you can sacrifice your summons at any time to gain their power. Expect more details on the class in the coming days.

Diablo 4 is in development for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. It will support cross-progression and cross-platform play. In terms of monetization, paid content will include “optional cosmetics” and “eventually full expansions.”
