After hosting a Public Test Realm for Diablo 4 Season 4, Blizzard Entertainment has announced that it goes live on May 14th at 10 AM PT. “Loot Reborn” offers extensive overhauls to loot, new activities and challenges, new crafting and upgrade systems, and much more.
Of course, since this is a game-wide list of changes, Season 4: Loot Reborn’s content will persist beyond its end date. Some changes include three affixes on Legendary items and two on Rare items, fewer drops that are more valuable when slaying monsters, capping Enchanting costs, reduced materials for Blacksmithing and more.
Tempering is a new feature, with players using Tempering Manuals to add affixes to items. They fall into six categories – Weapons, Offensive, Defensive, Mobility, Utility and Resource – and Ancestral items can have two Tempered affixes (albeit from separate categories), making them more valuable. Each item has Tempering Durability, limiting the amount of Tempering.
Then there’s Masterworking, which boosts the overall power of all affixes while significantly upgrading a single one every fourth tier. The best part is you can reset at any time and try again. Uniques and Ancestral Legendaries have Greater Affixes, which are 1.5 times stronger than their regular versions. These can’t be enchanted and must be found.
Check out the official post here for more details, especially on all the changes to Helltides, the Pit of Artificers and more. Diablo 4 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Though Blizzcon 2024 isn’t happening, its first paid expansion, Vessel of Hatred, will receive more details this Summer.
