The throne, obviously.

Arkane Studios’ Dishonored 2 will be available today for those who pre-ordered it, though the official worldwide release is tomorrow. Regardless, to celebrate either day’s launch, Arkane has released a launch trailer to clue you into what the hell is going on.

Taking place several years after the first game, Dishonored 2 sees Emily Caldwin as the Empress. It’s not long before a woman claiming to be the true heir to the throne arrives and Emily is ousted.

From what the launch trailer indicates, the game actually has a compelling reason to indicate why you can’t switch to Corvo at any point – he’s effectively held captive. Dishonored 2 will allow players to choose from either Emily or Corvo from the beginning and promises a varied experience for each.

Dishonored 2 will be out on November 11th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on the launch trailer? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information on the game in the coming week.
