If it weren’t enough that Nintendo dropped one of the best games of the year with Donkey Kong Bananza, it also announced a new DLC, DK Island and Emerald Rush, on the latest Direct. Best of all, it’s available now for Switch 2 players on the eShop for $19.99. Check it out below.
The DLC offers a modernized version of the iconic Donkey Kong Island, including Gangplank Galleon and DK’s Treehouse. Players can take pictures with Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and more, decorate the world with exclusive statues and even embark on new bonus mine cart tracks and jungle ruins stages.
Emerald Rush is a new mode which involves collecting Emerald Ores over a series of timed rounds. Donkey Kong can discover unique Fossils, which provide random Perks and Banadium Gems for skills. Depending on your success, new outfits and statues will unlock, and Nintendo promises “periodic” limited-time events. You’ll need to complete the main story to access the mode, though.
